BIM and Seismic Bracing of Medical Equipment
AZH provided structural calculations, BIM services, and shop drawings for support and seismic bracing of Fujifilm medical equipment. This included surgical/exam lights and X-rays for numerous radiology, catheterization labs, CT, special procedures, and patient care rooms per OSHPD standards. Additional scopes included folding partitions and bathroom partitions to the concrete structure. One of the main challenges of these designs was the stringent deflection criteria by Fujifilm, particularly since the building structure was of wood construction. For this, AZH worked closely with the contractors to check and reinforce the supporting substructure above to ensure it met design requirements.

Overhead Medical supports and 3D Modeling
AZH engineered designs and created 3D models for multiple overhead medical equipment support systems including patient lifts, exam lights, medical equipment booms, and radiology equipment. The 3D models of overhead supports were used alongside other MEP trades as well as architectural and structural to create a fully coordinated BIM model.

Medical Equipment Supports and Celing Grid
At PCH Arizona, AZH was responsible for designing a full overhead equipment support system throughout all nine floors and different rooms where the installation of the equipment was planned. Example of equipment were surgical/exam lights, radiology equipment and more, each with their own strict design criteria and deflection limits. For this, AZH utlized struts to create a rigid grid system, fully braced to the concrete deck above. Challenges included working around planned MEP utilities and varying grid heights for ceiling requirements.
