BIM & Shop Drawings
As structural engineering and construction methods continue to evolve, Building Information Modeling (BIM) has become an important part in the design phase of many projects. This helps to identify potential issues and conflicts early in the design phase, reducing the likelihood of expensive and time-consuming rework later in the project. AZH uses state-of-the-art BIM software such as Revit, Navisworks, and Tekla Structures to improve collaboration and speed up project delivery from design to construction. Moreover, we provide shop drawings and detailing services that ensure strict quality checks for a smooth design to construction process.
Valleywise Health Medical Center – Phoenix, AZ
In coordination with Cates Brothers Construction, AZH developed BIM and shop drawings for custom aluminum-framed supports that were attached to the floor and roof framing of the building. These supported various overhead and other medical equipment. Through a BIM, AZH ensured proper fitment of these frames into the framing of the building and worked with other trades to make sure that no clashes remained.
Green Ridge Solar Headquarters – Sherwood, OR
AZH created a full set of steel fabrication shop drawings for this two-story 18,000 square feet office building using Tekla Structures. Using client provided structural and architectural drawing sets, our designers first carefully modelled each and every structural element to form a complete 3D model of this building. Then, individual part drawings for the steel beams, columns, connections, and anchor bolts were made. After these were delivered to the fabricator, AZH coordinated with the fabricator to ensure a seamless process for the transition from design to construction.
BUMCP Patient Tower - Phoenix, AZ
AZH worked with JMH Innovations to provide BIM layouts for suspended medical supports. This included overhead strut or steel frames that supported equipment such as X-rays, exam lights, and other large devices. In the BIM, AZH coordinated with various trades on the project to ensure the new added supports did not clash with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing of the building.
Southport Hotel -- Seattle, WA
This BIM project at Southport Hotel involved creating a detailed 3D model to optimize the design, installation, and integration of Skyhook supports in the building. This project enhanced coordination among all disciplines, identifying and resolving potential clashes early in the design process to ensure seamless construction. The comprehensive BIM model also facilitated efficient project execution and long-term maintenance of the Skyhook supports.
Group Health Burien Medical Center – Burien, WA
AZH was responsible for optimizing the placement of different types of medical equipment within the floor and roof framing at this clinic in Burien, WA. BIM software was used to determine how to attach these units to the structural members inside the existing building model and resolve any clashes with nearby utilities. This allowed for a seamless installation in the field and ensured compatibility and functionality with other trades.
